happiness

there comes a moment
some call it an epiphany
some call it a stroke of luck
for me
it was just a dawning realisation
or perhaps
more simply
a reminder
that things can be as simple or as complicated
as you want it to be
a reminder
that some things
or most things
arent under our control
that no matter how hard
you try to twist, pull and shove
it wont budge.
no matter how much
you ponder, pout and grimace
when things change
they change.

and then
you say to yourself
its gonna be more then i can take
you think to yourself
its gonna change everything
but is not life like that
always more then we can handle
changes by the second and minute

happiness is a state
a state that depends on circumstances
what i would give to have understood that earlier
